125cc Pocket Bikes
Is a pocket bike considered a moped?
I want to buy a 125cc pocket bike. The license i have is only for mopeds. I live in south carolina. So is it considered a moped because i want to know before i buy a $1,000 pocket bike.
A pocket bike is not a moped. Pocket bikes can not be licensed and are not considered to be a motor vehicle. They are in effect toys. Thus the only legal place to operate one is on your own property, or on other private property where you have the owner’s permission to use it.
Therefor, they are not usable as transportation.
