Yes unless you are familiar with the engines and something of a mechanic who needs to carry it to a shop for this to be done. Try doing this on their own, unless something of a mechanic, could lead to permanent damage and a bill much bigger. I am a bit of a backyard mechanic, but not a professional. Given the circumstances and the opportunity to cause more harm than good to try to do this on their own, I would take it to the store. Any water that got into the engine, carburetor and / or transmission will create problems. I am sure that your bike can be saved. The sooner you get the best so that water and other waste can be cleaned. Call the store, tell them what happened. They will be able to tell the approximate amount of time needed to take care of this and what time you buy your rate per hour. Good luck!
