Recent history of the types of cylinders
The most ancient and most common the design of the cylinder is a cast iron block is machined with a cylindrical bore directly from a solid casting. Both systems work equally well when professionally done, so it really comes down to economics. You can expect a long-sleeved cylinder to give more life to the money. Re-plated cylinders are as close to original as it can get. So if you're happy with your OEM plated cylinder you should have returned to silver.
