49cc Gas Scooter
Why wont my gas scooter start?
I recently brought out my two year old stand up Razorback V2 49cc gas scooter. It’s a piece of crap made in China I know, but it started right away, even though there was 2 year old gas still in the tank. By the way we use a drill with a socket driver on the end to start it after the starter broke. Every time I would ride it, it would stop by itself after going full throttle for any amount of time, but it would start right up again. It worked that way for about two days, and I went through a tank of gas, and it suddenly wouldn’t begin to start. It seems there is alot of resistance in turning over the motor. It even overheated my cordless drill. ANY IDEAS WHY IT WONT START ANY MORE?

Sounds like your fuel filter is clogged.
When you go full rev it pulls all the debris collected by the filter up to the screen. When it dies the heavy stuff drops from the filter until you increase the flow with the higher revs. It also sounds like the gum build up of old gas has is finally disolving and cloging the filter permently. I would suggest a carb rebuild, also replace all filters and gas lines and completely flush your gas tank with carb and choke cleaner. This should take care of it. While you are at it you might as well replace the spark plug, pretty cheap way to get more power and reliability.
