Atv Arenal

What to do in San José, Costa Rica and how to get to Arenal from the center?
We went to Costa Rica for vacation in a week. First we will be in Quepos, during four days sailing, fishing, ATV riding, then 4 days in San José, Costa Rica. While I'm in downtown San Jose, What are some who see and do in San Jose or in the area. I am also interested in going to Panama, but do not know if I have time enough, or that we were looking to go to La Fortuna, the sand. Nature Air and Sansa are stuffed and can not fly in those days. Here is my question …. what is the cheapest and best way to travel from downtown SJ to Arenal, La Fortuna? and complex is the best place to stay, with a budget in mind? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Am according to Dougga. Museums are the best part of San Jose. In addition, I took the public bus from San Jose to La Fortuna once. Never again. The price was right (I think it cost us about $ 5.00 per person, maybe a little more), but took forever, and it was very uncomfortable. Now often hire a private transport which will run about $ 130 for up to 5 people. Ideal for work around your schedule. You can also take a shuttle for about $ 40.00 a person. Cheaper for small groups, but is on a strict schedule. Or you can take a taxi. Never also rent a car in CR. The driving is different from what which is in the states. The roads are not as well maintained. You are not always guaranteed to have good signage on the roads. And the rates of accidents in San Jose are very high (I think my cab driver told me last third in the world). I know people who have done it but I prefer my adventures in the desert, lol.
