Flat Tops wilderness elk hunting?

Hello, I'm trying to do some research on the desert of the Flat Tops area White River National Forest Colorado to hunt elk (2011 Second rifle). I'm not familiar with the area (from Michigan), looking for a camping spot and the best part of the top flat for camping, hunting and access at the top level and what to expect from this area. I've hunted elk in Idaho in the last four years with some süsses, so I have all the equipment but not the knowledge of this area, as I have to bring my ATV or simply use the truck to move in two tracks. Any help would be great, thanks.

First, if you hunt in the desert that will not use any vehicle, except to get to the trailhead. So you probably can leave the ATC (unless they identify another adjacent area outside the desert.) Horses or hunting with light backpacks might be your best bet if you want to go in very far. Sorry, nobody is going to give away the location of where they think the best place to look is anything on the Internet (unless you want to stop hunting there?) Just come as early as possible and make your scan time or go with a local guide of some sort.
