Do it yourself hunting antelope?

I've hunted deer in Illinois and Wisconsin and hunting Sitka, Alaska Blacktails. I was looking at doing an unguided hunting antelope one of these years. I currently live in Illinois so I was thinking about a hunt in Wyoming, it would not be that bad of a drive. Does anyone have any advice on how to find publicly accessible land? Any suggestions on a good place to go to the first antelope hunt? Any advice from experienced hunters Goat Meadow (equipment … 4 wheel drive all terrain vehicles, only on foot, spotting scopes, binoculars, etc. ..) I think the two major things I want to know is how to find public land (federal, state, etc.), where people suggest a good antelope hunting, and what you take with you when you go hunting on the prairie.
