Mysterious rocks with deep scratches??
I hiked Mt. Magalloway in NH and all the way to the rocks had strange grooves or scratches at the edges and tops of the rocks. It is possible that it was not a truck, ATV or climbing cross this level, and scratches / grooves appeared on the rocks at random throughout the road. So I guess I was wondering if humans do not make those for a firm if the rocks are wet, or if their hooves lift or how it came there …… please help if you can.
glacial grooves, scratches in the rocks caused by the passage of glaciers lead to other rocks, are very common in areas rock in the mountains of northern New England. Usually the scratches will be oriented in approximately the same direction, and this is the direction the ice was moving. It gives you an idea of how thick the ice was really, I was able to report these hills and mountains full. Only the highest mountains are sources actual glaciers, high mountains and lower hills were mounted right on the ice.
