Algunas cuestiones importantes relativas a la seguridad de ATV

Cuando ATV se convirtió en un importante competidor en actividades recreativas y el vehículo de utilidad en 1984, también aumentó la creciente preocupación del público. ATV se estaba convirtiendo en un vehículo de controversia. No hubo un estimado de 60.000 lesiones en 1986, todos los ATV asociados debido a la conducta impropia de equitación y paseos emoción demasiado excesivo. El vencimiento del decreto aún no ha ayuda con las prácticas de seguridad de ATV, aunque efectivamente sustituye las tres ruedas con las cuatro ruedas ATV. Y la CPSC había una serie de defectos, sino que sólo abarca a los fabricantes presentes en la forja del decreto. Nueva fabricantes que entró en el mercado después de la forja de Final del Decreto de consentimiento no están cubiertos por los planes por así decirlo y eso les dio un margen de maniobra considerable hacia la fabricación de vehículos todo terreno. Además, los fabricantes en el extranjero están totalmente exentas de este decreto.

Ha habido decretos atendiendo a la naturaleza de las propias máquinas. Un decreto tal es el saldo de la máquina en lo que respecta a los pilotos edad. Los pilotos menores de 16, queda terminantemente prohibido montar ATV 90cc con motores. Varios estados también han aprobado legislaciones que regulan el uso de ATV en su fronteras, como por ejemplo los corredores de edad y los desplazamientos motor debe reconocer con los decretos.

Algunos defensores, sin embargo, sostienen que un niño que empieza a andar en vehículos todo terreno menor edad mejora la seguridad de ATV. Vehículo todo terreno Safety Institute (ASI) se formó en 1988 para implementar un programa de seguridad en ATV, educación y sensibilización a los interesados jinetes de ATV. Dado que es una organización sin fines de lucro, el costo por asistir a entrenarse con el ATV de seguridad es mínima. ASI es una división de Vehículos Especiales del Instituto de América (SVIA), también una organización que promueve el uso seguro y responsable de los vehículos de la especialidad.
