atv is in gear, how come when i pull the clutch lever (connected to clutch cover) does not engage neutral?
im asking this question because i just broke my clutch cable and am trying to adjust the new cable. ive never done this before but if i pull the lever on the clutch cover shouldnt it disengage the gear that it is in? im going back in the garage to try and figure this out… any ideas would be greatly appreciated
The clutch transmits power from the engine to the gearbox. Disengaging the clutch interrupts the flow of power into the gearbox, allowing the whole powertrain beyond the engine to freewheel. It does not, however, disengage whatever gear the gearbox happens to be in.
