Atv Safety Statistics

How can I convince my parents to let me buy a quad or a pitbike?

I’m turning 18 in a few months and when I do, my friend and I decided we would buy ATV’s or at least pitbikes/dirtbikes. However, my parents are not too pleased with the idea, thinking that I am still 13 years old. There are lots of places to offroad in the area I live, so this would not be an issue. My parents are concerned for safety. I told them Im not getting this thing to be doing flips and big jumps, but only for just goin out in the mud and messin around with my friends. My mom still thinks I’m going to break my neck. They are very ignorant of injury statistics and also refuse to see them. I grew up messing around on this sort of offroad moped thing that was about 40cc, low hp and I don’t intend on buy a powerful quad or bike at first. What can I argue to help them understand that as an adult, I can make my own decisions? Thanks

this is a hard question to answer. i find quading and dirtbikeing safer then driveing a car down the street and im a hard core quader and in all the years of quading i never got hurt.
just remember every day life is dangerous just walking down the sidewalk you could be killed even walking down or up stairs. when i quad i dont even wear a helmet i take lots of risks. your parents just have to realise thatyour going to be 18 and soon ready to move out.
