Insurance: Drunk Driver Ruins Financial Future
Clyde and Claudette's financial future is now in ruins! Make sure that does not happen to you. These tips will help protect you from the time bomb that devastated them.
I spoke with Clyde and his wife, Claudette, recently. In fact, Clyde brought his son to one of my popular financial seminars so he could learn to avoid the mistakes of his father had done.
Everything had gone great Clyde and Claudette – he had a job insurance with excellent benefits. His house was almost paid. Their children were doing well in school. The life and his future seemed bright.
Then one day, Claudette I was driving home from the store as he always did. A drunk driver speeding in his direction hit a car on its side of the road got out of it, jumped across the median and crashed into car Claudette.
In just a few seconds of Clyde and Claudette lives changed forever. By Luckily he was not murdered. But she is permanently disabled. As often happens, the police never caught the drunk driver. You should also consider an umbrella liability policy. It provides general liability protection, in addition to that offered by your automobile and homeowners policies. In particular I recommend to my private clients Wealth Management who are doctors because they are prone to lawsuits. I suggest if you have a pool or trampoline or if you own a recreational vehicle potentially dangerous as a boat, jet-ski, or ATV.
Follow these simple steps to ensure they do not make the same mistake and Claudette Clyde did: 1) Make an appointment to have your property and accident insurance policies reviewed. 2) Consider an umbrella liability policy if you do not currently have. 3) Consider increase deductibles to reduce premiums. 4) Call around and compare rates from different companies.
