Going on a family vacation is always an adventure, no matter where you go and more so when the head of Maine's most favored recreation area Outdoors: Jackman and the Moose River. There is just something special about the mountains of Maine that attracts people of all ages. However, children are children, and best to plan some special activities for children friendly ahead of time to ensure everyone has a good time. Here is a list of seven activities nice guy for the holidays this year in Maine:

1) Rafting

If you have older children who are looking for some real excitement, you may want to consider rafting, a popular sport in the rivers of Maine. Daily departures are scheduled for the Kennebec River, Dead River and the river Penobscot with many Class III rapids of class V. The minimum age is 15.8 depending on river. Outfitters offer everything you need and can create a custom trip for your family or group.

While 34 miles The Moose River Bow trip is one of the leading canoe trips in the country, the Sandy Creek Canoeing is a great day trip for family only 4 miles. Sandy Stream Road runs between Holeb and Big Wood Lake and runable only at high tide early in the summer. Get up early to enjoy this trip and enjoy some elk and deer sightings along the River. While water can be fast moving, there is rapid progress in this journey.

5) In a Quebec ATV

When the snow melts, New England aside their snowmobiles and take their ATVs. And thanks to an effort set last year between the borders of Jackman Riders Club and the Jockey Club of Canada, you can ride in Canada Jackman Maine. Where else can go for a walk of several days the country? Stop by the Jockey Club borders and pick up some maps. 6) Enduro Car Race

The car endurance race, a race for Stock Car sponsored by the Border Riders Club brings together more than 20 junker for the fun race around a track. Fifty exciting turns up most race enthusiasts will enjoy. Viewers can also enjoy food and games.

7) Fall Foliage Bike Tour mountain.

The miles of old logging roads and snowmobile trails offer something for all levels of mountain bikers throughout the summer. However, a great ride easy for the family is that of Solon to Bingham Rail Trail along the Kennebec River with some of the best leaves fall seen in all New England. The trail is crushed stone and 14 miles round trip. The trails allow amazing sites in the fall, plus the opportunity to view wildlife such as moose, deer, partridges, rabbits, foxes and many species of birds. The best time to view the artwork natures of the mountains in bright colors is usually late October to mid September.
