BMW Motorbike Import. U.S. Ireland?

Basically I was hoping people could share their views and knowledge on the import BMW Motorcycle (im not sure which yet as im starting to get into them) of the United States to Ireland and what is involved or cheaper to buy only in Ireland. I'm vaguely aware of the different things you have to go through when involved in the import, but I know I'm missing something trivial and figure out which is cheaper. Thanks loads.

Importing a motorcycle in Ireland will have two costs: 1: U.S. Transportation 2: Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) to import into Ireland. VRT depends on the model, vehicle age. I recently imported from the United Kingdom a 1993 BMW K75S which cost me under $ 300 in VRT.
