How well do you run Boxee on Apple TV?

I bought my father an Apple TV for Father's Day and wondered if it was worth to Boxee in it. I read that it is clunky and crashes often. It is also the processor is too weak to stream Netflix and all that. But then again some people say it is a godsend in ATV.

I think (like most things) the answer is "depends." After installing Boxee on AppleTV a couple of weeks, here's my take: 1. Easy to set up 2. I have not bothered to use it for any media stored locally … That is what my AppleTV already does well. 3. I used to Hulu … and is a bit slow at times, but otherwise, it works pretty well. 4. I used it to video podcasts and it works very well … but then again, so does AppleTV 5. I've had mixed results with most Internet video. Often crashes, sometimes refuses to leave smoking, etc. 6. It is impressive for Internet audio. I just set up for Pandora. Net, net: an admitted user (not as a team casual tweaker at all), I think more useful for audio content, and passable for some video content, depending on the source.
