What is a free good JSP / Web design tool?
I tried Eclipse w / Web tools plug-ins, but seems to act flaky with errors. I have also tried Sun Studio The Creator Studio Enterprise 8, but appears to work primarily with JSF, and I'm trying to learn more about JSP and servlets first. I have over 5 years coding experience with J2SE, and now I'm trying to get into stuff like J2EE/Web seems to be where the jobs are. Thanks!
Netbeans has always been my favorite, but there is no way I turn HTML (JSP) without dreamweaver so do not expect to get away with it without having to learn to use tools 2.3. Do not let scare JSF. Java Server Faces is indeed a JSP / Servlet framework to help you code better faster web applications like Ruby on Rails. Anyway my advice as a web developer is to keep it simple. Never got used to using Java on the server and saw that with Java it took me more time to accomplish something to say with PHP. IMHO Java is not serving pages, it is a good tool to have in the backend, but in advance that you need light, fast things PHP, Ruby or VB. So make a decision now and not waste time trying to be both. You want to mess with data, services, answers XML and the like? Go with J2EE. Want to code web applications? Go with PHP, JavaScript (AJAX is the future) or Ruby Hope that helped

And, with the youthful appeal of the Dead Milkmen, the off-kilter storytelling of Primus, and a razor-sharp sense of irony, they are utterly un… |
