atv quad Chinese problem?
I have a quad Chinese (Taotao 110cc) that will not stay running, to start and run if you keep the throttle, but dies when the throttle is left in peace. I just put a brand new carb on it and new spark plug but still the same problem, hope someone can help.
I helped a friend of mine in the past that had one of these. Unfortunately, they are known to have a myriad of problems. His was a non 250-110. Due to the fact you know how to put a carburetor, I will assume to know the details about the choke, leaving it warm, etc. Is there fuel / air mixture screw and / or idle speed? It could be a problem with float in the carburetor, but we'll leave alone now. The manual or the instructions that came with the carburetor must tell which is which. Start with the idle speed, turning 1 / 4 turn increments. You want a reasonable idle speed, no high speed for continues to operate, this is difficult in various components when to start or step. If this does not solve the problem, or if the idle is high to keep it running. Adjust fuel / air mixture screw. If the idle speed is reasonable, but not continue to operate, which is probably the problem. Test first to increase the fuel input. The same way as inactive quarter increments. The exhaust should not be too smoky or "rich" smelling. More fuel, less air. It needs some tweaks, but between the two should be able to dial in.
