Dirt Bikes Classifieds

What do you think? Has anyone ever done this?

Gone through classifieds in the paper or craigslist or something, call a bunch of sellers, and then go to see the bike for sale not to buy but just for the sake of seeing it/trying it out? I’m thinking about doing this for a dirt bike.

I DO want to buy one, but I wont have the money for about a year, I just to get a feel of different bikes, would that be so wrong to pretend to be interested and back out?

I haven’t and wouldn’t but my friends son does a similar thing with cars. He really wants a fast car but needs a work ute as he is a brickie. So he gets his fix of cars by going and checking out ones for sale and if he is lucky he gets a trial drive. So I guess you are not alone in this.
Mind you I would probably foot you up the bum if you were wasting my time but then the seller won’t know that and by the time you do buy you will know what is good and what isn’t.
Besides you cannot be good all the time, what fun is there in that.
