Oregon is a fantastic place for photography. Oregon Coast is ideal to visit at any time of year. The beaches of many steep green slopes, beautiful rock formations, inviting coastal cities make it a tourist destination. The drive along Highway 101 in Oregon is definitely the scenic route. It largely follows the coast that offer good access to the coastal cities, beaches and other attractions.
The North Coast begins south of Astoria, which is at the mouth of the Columbia River, one of the largest rivers in the U.S.. Seaside and Cannon Beach are great coastal downs the north coast. Haystack Rock, a rock formation 235 meters off the coast in Cannon Beach, you can not lose. Further south and slightly inland, Tillamook, is home the famous Tillamook cheese and tours are offered.
The Central Coast has many great attractions. Oregon Dunes recreation fantastic. They are the best access to ATVs or dune buggies, but the steep descents can also be SKII. There are miles of trails and beaches open to explore also there are many lakes in this region with excellent fishing.
The Central Coast is also home to sea caves, with a near Florence which is billed as the most largest in the world and also provides a home to hundreds of sea lions. Sea Lion Caves is a popular tourist destination and offers a beautiful view of the steep green slopes down to the sea, a waterfall, and the entry of largest coastal city Heceda Head Lighthouse. And coastal protected Oregon, Coos Bay, is also in the central coast.
Going south from Coos Bay, Bandon is a beautiful town home to some of the country's golf courses highest rated. Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes are two advanced courses showing the best of American golf link style. Port Orford is a pleasant seaside resort with exceptional natural landscape and beautiful rock formations offshore. The outlet Rogue River in Gold Beach, which is home of many scenic rock formations such as Brookings, located a few miles north of the border with California.
