I am looking to buy a Honda Ruckus in Hawaii?

In August I'm moving to Hawaii to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Me'm moving to Denver as who do not have any transportation and I am thinking of buying a used Honda Ruckus or some other type of scooter. You've never had any kind of scooter or motorcycle and I'm not sure what I have to do to legaly drive. anything I should know before I buy it?
