Essex One thing certainly not lacking is the beach. For many, many years, the coast of Essex has proved a popular holiday destination for London and the Home Counties and attract tourists in Europe and beyond.

Canvey Litoral

Thorney Bay the beach (Canvey Island)
This quiet, sheltered beach, ideal for families and spend a relaxing day. The beach is surrounded by areas large lawn area with picnic tables, a playground and free parking. There is also a newly opened café, public toilets, which allows all significant tea, hot meals or just a fresh ice cream to ease away the rigors of sun, rock pooling or ball games on the lawn. Playa Labworth (Canvey Island)

By car, just follow the parking A127 and A13 from London or the A130 from Chelmsford – always available. Try the train from Fenchurch Street station in London and a short tour bus right to the bandstand on the beach.

Southend on Sea Coast

Southend on Sea has seven miles of sparkling seafront from Shoeburyness to covering Leigh on Sea Along this stretch Coast beaches only find six very special.

Bell Wharf Beach (Leigh on Sea)
A very small sandy beach and that is extremely popular with families, located at the eastern end of Old Leigh in an area famous for cockle fishing and heritage. Shops, cafes and parking spaces nearby. Access is from Old Leigh and Leigh railway station is ten minutes walk.

Chalkwell Beach (Chalkwell)
This is a long narrow beach of sand and soda, parking services and aid volunteers on weekends. Access is from the gardens and the Western Chalkwell seafront and Chalkwell railway station is at the western end of the beach.

Playa del Este (Shoeburyness)
This beach of fine sand, with a grassy knoll, has excellent car parking, café, recreation area, beach shower and toilets. There are also zoned areas for water sports. Access is through the Esplanade and Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness train station is only 5 minutes away.

Jubilee Beach (Southend)
New Southend fantastic beach opened in July 2002. Jubilee Beach was created from the construction of flood defenses, and stretches from Southend Pier to Thorpe Bay. The Marine Parade section of the beach is very popular with families and has cafes, restaurants, beach goods, entertainment and car parking nearby by. Access is from Marine Parade and the Esplanade East. Southend Central train station is ten minutes walk.

Shoebury Common Beach (Shoeburyness)
Shoebury Common Beach (also known as West Beach) is a long stone / sandy beach with controlled access for personal watercraft and dock boats. This beach has a café, parking and good services. Access is via Eastern Esplanade and Thorpe Bay. Thorpe railway station of the Bay is about 15 minutes.

Three deposits Beach (Southend)
Three tanks is a single, small beach, families with all amenities close by and near the City Center. It is well managed with the support of the Local Association of Commerce, the servants of the beach every days, and has installed a shower on the beach and the framework of climbing children. Access is from Western Esplanade, west of the pier. Southend Central station is just ten minutes walk.

Tendring Coast

Albion Beach (Walton on the Naze)
With one of the best in the area beaches and home to the second longest pier in the UK, Walton charms visitors of all ages. From the beach of field activities, walks, Walton has it all. The Quality Coast Award beach is located near the town of Walton on the Naze, in Essex Sunshine Coast. Access is by a train connection from London and Ipswich, bus service from Sea Frinton and Clacton on Sea, or by road from south from London and Colchester via the A12, A120, A120, A133 and B1034 and from the north of Ipswich via the A12, A120, A133 and B1034.

Brightlingsea Beach (Brightlingsea)
Brightlingsea on the River Colne is rich in maritime history and has the distinction of being the only Cinque Port outside Kent and Sussex. The city is a haven for yachts and host international sailing events a year. Its Blue Flag sandy beach runs along western promenade along to Batemans Tower, a local landmark. A parade of beach huts an attractive and pleasant walk to shore, where you can join the nature trail along the site an old railway line to Alresford Creek. Dovercourt Bay Beach (Dovercourt, Harwich)

Frinton Beach (Frinton on Sea)
Frinton on Sea is a quiet beach family destination located on the Essex Sunshine Coast. A beach of soft sand shelving stands out for its cleanliness and gentility, the area places special emphasis on fun familiar and relaxed on the beach. Enjoy long walks on the meadow or take a short ride in the center of the city with its wide range of procurement services. A stroll in one direction takes you Walton on the Naze, a lively seaside resort and in the other direction to Holland Haven Country Park, a local nature reserve.

The Quality Coast beach Prize is located near the town of Frinton on Sea, Essex, on the Costa del Sol. Access is by train from Frinton on Sea with connections from London and Ipswich, for bus services Clacton on Sea and Walton on the Naze, or access road from the south via the A12, A120, A133 and B1033 and from the north through Ipswich A14, A12, A120, A133 and B133.

Beach Harwich (Harwich)
Quality Coast Award Harwich Beach is located next to the historic town of Harwich, in the estuary of the rivers Stour and Orwell in northeast Essex. The city is a major port and the old town of Harwich is a conservation area, which contains many historic buildings beautiful.

Harwich Beach is a rare example of a system of dunes that emerge in Essex, where the coast is predominantly marsh. It might be best described as a beach " work "that fishermen and sailors use throughout the year to launch, land and moor their boats. The Naze Beach (Walton on the Naze)
The Naze is a Quality Coast Award, located just north of Walton on the Naze, in northeast Essex. Naze cliffs and beautiful national nature reserve, providing the perfect opportunity for walking and bird watching. Look through Hamford Water and yachts come and go see Titchmarsh Marina, while in the bottom of large ships sailing to and from the port of Harwich.

Access is through a train connection from London and Ipswich. There are bus services of Frinton on Sea and Clacton on Sea Access is via the road from the South London and Colchester via the A12, A120, A133 and B1034.

West Beach (Clacton on Sea)
This is a busy and popular resort on the Sunshine coast of Essex. Its many attractions include, Clacton Pier, bars, restaurants and the city the mall. The city has theaters offering traditional seaside entertainment and a cinema. Clacton has a large living room air as part of their exciting August Bank Holiday program. It is also very proud of its seafront gardens with beautifully maintained walking tracks bordering the top.
