Mopeds Gas Mileage

The use of mopeds and motorcycles in the winter time?
Does anyone have experience with mopeds or motorcycles to get to work outdoors or winter? I told the dealer that there is no reason why you can not use then and know people who do, but this can become in my "go to work vehicle." The reason is, of course, gas mileage and a vehcile that only meets my needs. Not for example, need my four family seat sports sedan with a trunk big enough to sleep and bad fuel consumption to drive me to work every day! Thanks for the input! and alternatives! CS
I have a colleague in Wisconsin who rides a motorcycle from the time the snow and salt are the roads, until it comes back again. I recently asked about "all weather" track. He provided useful information, parts of which I can share here. The theme of the baseline I learned is that it can be done (that has no problem riding in the rain, but may not be pleasant), but you have to invest in proper equipment. Otherwise, sometimes was cold, wet and miserable. Worse, if you live in a cold climate, starting with the hands to sleep, leading to unsafe riding (it is argued ignition, brake, accelerator, etc..) First, if you are new to riding, take a MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) approved riding beginners course. You will be taught proper driving techniques, and many states will waive the skills test if they have successfully completed the course. For equipment, invest in a riding suit high quality. Companies like Aerostich (www.aerostich.com) can provide custom clothes fit. You also have to invest in a good helmet. Also, check out to www.ridetowork.org. I'm not sure if I will end up getting a bike or not. What I learned is that the truth, unless you want to ride need to think seriously track at all times! " You will not want to do it with jeans and a shirt. At the time of investing in the quality of Top Gear all-weather and a cycle that could buying a beater "or reasonable passenger cars. (Of course it's not going so well in the gas.) One last thought. I'm not sure where you live, but regardless what the dealers who are trying to sell a cycle that does not want to ride on snow or ice. It's too dangerous. As an FYI, my partner work has its own website http://wismoto.com/
