Motorbike Size Matter?
Im buying my first bike soon and its probably going to be somewhere along a yamaha R1. I saw a few guys ride their bikes and don’t completely lean forward as they grab the handlebars, they sorta look like they are sitting almost upright and it seems sorta tacky. I was wondering if the size of the bike matters? Is it uncomfortable or annoying to have to reach for the handle bars or should you get a comfortable fit on one? any riders? comments thanks.
lot of variables to consider first. have you ever ridden a motorcycle? how old are you? what are the roads like where you live?, what will you be using it mainly for?
i’m 46 & have been riding since i was 18 & had many different bikes. if this is your first time riding & you are young i would suggest a 250 for a short time. it will get you fast enough to kill yourself & have fun on without the extra costs of a bigger bike. i have always ridden performance bikes (kawasaki, honda, yamaha ) & have only ridden a cruiser bike once ( harley) & did not like it, not fast enough & handles like a pig in poop. but now i find if i ride for too long leaning forward hurts my wrists & shoulders. age has caught up with my riding style. basically, it’s common sense to start small & get used to it before moving on to bigger. any real rider with experience will tell you this.
