Kosciusko National Park – which is the best way?
Travelling east to west (Narooma, NSW to Bright, Vic), which is the most picturesque to go, either; NORTH of Lake Eucumbene – Reaching Fishermen Cooma Cabramurra etc or to Corryong, south of Lake – Berridale Cooma to Jindabyne to Thredbo for a motorcycle travel etc Corryong early November and would like the best route for the views and bits of curves with the possibility of a meal somewhere. Whereis says that is about six hours and I have all day …
I do not ride a bike, but I really enjoy driving the snowy mountains of the highway to Cooma Kiandra. Both routes around the actual range is quite windy. I the Alpine Way through Thredbo probably has better views than Cabramurra the way through, although probably there is less traffic on the Cabramurra Rd (both are quite empty outside of these hours on holidays). After getting down the steep bits of the Way of the Alps in the views from Lookout Scammels Geehi flat again west side of the main chain are spectacular. You will be able to pick up lunches in Cooma, Jindabyne, Thredbo and Adaminaby. Adaminaby is smaller, and only cafeteria is a memory. The other places have a variety of places to eat (though not all can be opened in Thredbo ski season off – there should be a couple of cafes and restaurant bar at least).
