how hard are the Polaris ATV transmissions? can take this?
I'm looking to put a 340 or 440 engine in my old Trailboss, but power Additional ruin the tranny? a trailbosss / pioneer / etc … Polaris ATV engines for the most part (except the predator and outside the law), are like jet engines snow, no gears, no engine trans interior some, setting a Briggs & Stratton 8 hp with a clutch driving a belt. and 340/440 'S are twin cylinder I know this because I've owned both. the process of putting an engine in this quad would be just to remove the old engine, engine mounts up fab and keep the belt line then connect electrical or fuel line / etc. my question is, can the tranny take that type of abuse or going to give up the battle?
Polaris ATV transmission are so difficult that it is almost ridiculous. my brother is pioneering to 400 horsepower 70 years on the rear wheels in a transfer of securities by more than 500 hours in the last 7 or less. He also helped lift some mud trucks with him too.
