Smart Trikes for my 1 year old.?

Hi my mother in law is getting my son one of those smart trikes, the ones that are a little bike with a handle on for the parents to push etc.
I know they are very popular as I have see lots of toddlers in them round town, but I was just wondering are you allowed to go in shops with them, as most people when Ive read reviews have said they use them instead of buggys,

Yes it is allowed I have seen people pushing there little ones around in them in shops.
