How do I remove that magneto cover (I think it’s a flywheel) on my ATV?
I bought a china ATV about 2 months ago and I have been needing to replace the magneto (electrical) and I don’t have the right tool (nor do I even know what to use) to get this off. Any help would be EXTREMELY APPRECIATED. I’ve Worked for over a year for this quad and I need help. 
Okay I used this method when I worked at a lawn mower repair place and we didn’t have the right puller to do it right.
Loosen up the nut and screw it up to where it’s even with the threaded shaft. Figure out a way to put pressure on the magneto itself with levers but be careful you don’t break or bend anything else. You just need some continuous pressure upwards. Take a dead blow hammer and stride the bolt head sharply. No deadhead hammer then use a piece of wood against the nut and strike the wood with a regular hammer while keeping pressure on the magneto. when it “pops up” the nut still on the shaft will keep it from dropping off too quickly. It’s not the force but the sharp impact with upward pressure on the magneto that will “pop it loose”. The shaft is probably tapered and there will be a long square or half moon “key” that keeps the magneto properly lined up with the shaft. DON’T LOSE IT………. MAKE SURE YOU PUT IT BACK THE SAME WAY IT CAME OFF…….
