For your holiday in the Algarve, things to do are easy to find. The Algarve is not only a great climate, fantastic beaches and fresh seafood wonderful.

If you're on vacation with a young family, there will be days when you have to do something different from going to the beach. Fortunately, the Algarve has a lot of things that are offered to all the family fun and entertaining.

These range from theme parks and water parks to zoos, hiking boat to go-karting, so you'll have plenty to choose from. Most of these attractions are among Faro Algarve and Portimao to the west.

Many theme parks and water parks offer bus transportation from various tourist spots around the Algarve for a modest cost (and sometimes even free).

Things to do Algarve – theme parks and zoos
Capilla de San Sebastián
One of the most popular theme parks in the Algarve, Chapel of San Sebastián located on the outskirts of Albufeira and is a mixture of a marine center, zoo and amusement park. The main attractions of the park are spectacular displays of dolphins water and sea lions, and the fun fair for children. Krazy World Zoo & Algarve
Krazy World is a theme park for children and Algoz near the Zoo, north of Albufiera. Apart from being a park theme, with mini-golf, a farm, pony rides and a fairground, it is also home to the Algarve Zoo, which is home to reptiles and snakes. Lagos Zoo
Approximately one minute fifteen drive north west of Lagos, Benasfrim near find Lagos Zoo. Not huge, but there are plenty of animals and birds to see. Best of all are the monkeys, who live on their own island paradise. There more educational things for children to engage in, and a petting farm and games … To learn more about it here

Things to do Algarve – Water Parks
Aqualand
Formerly known as The Big One, Aqualand is located near the city of Alcantarilha between Albufeira and Armação de Pera to about 15 km of Albufeira on the EN 125 main road. Slide and Splash
You will find Slide and Splash well signposted on the EN125, and is located 5 minutes drive past Lagoa, about 30 minutes from Albufeira and 15 minutes from Portimão. Newer than Aqualand, but has the same type of attractions when you get there. Your decision on which one to visit can be better judged by its location, rather than one being better than the other … click here for more information

Aquashow
Aquashow is a large park in Quarteira, near Vilamoura. A family water park, has some good white knuckle rides including a roller coaster. There are gentler rides for younger (and older!). In calmer weather, try out the Jacuzzi or sample of birds … click here for more information

Atlantic Park
Atlantic Park was called Wet and Wild. It is the smallest Algarve water parks and is aimed at younger children (not so much reckless enthusiasm as other water parks Algarve). There are a number of attractions water, four children's bikes and bouncy castles, with daily programs for high diving in the summer. The park also has a good restaurant.

Dolphins
Dolphin watching is always a popular activity for vacationers, and there are dolphins and whales to be seen on the Algarve coast.
