little doubt about the ignition system on a motorcycle fourwheeler?
I've been working on this single cylinder quad, I could not get a spark. I have tested the cdi unit with a multimeter against a table of resistance values of a shop manual that the unit must read between each terminal. It tested its roots. So we bought another second-hand one, still no spark, I have torn the wiring, started again from scratch, and got a spark! You beaut! However, it was a weak spark and yesterday konk out all together. I rechecked all cables, plugs, etc, tested for power and continuity, tested the new Commission, and all values are within specifications (with a couple of a few ohms over, I do not think that should matter) … My question is, because all values are in the specifications (or very close) Does this exclude the CDI unit? I'm thinking it's the ignition coil. Cheers
