Your New Zealand Honeymoon
Perhaps it is because New Zealand is seen as so far from countries like the UK and the U.S..
Perhaps it is because of our many geographical and geological attractions, all within two relatively small islands. Maybe it's because the "Lord of the Rings." Or, perhaps due to the multitude of adventure and adrenaline-inducing activities for which New Zealand has become famous. Whatever the reason, New Zealand appears to be a destination for couples on their honeymoon.
In the North Island, Bay of Islands north of Auckland, together with the Central North Island covering Rotorua, Taupo and Waitomo, would destinations.
Bay of Islands offers scuba diving, sailing, swimming with dolphins, picturesque and steeped in the history of New Zealand.
Each one of the key destinations in the central North Island offers a unique flavor. Rotorua is best known for its geysers and mud pools and Maori culture. The city also offers a wide variety of adventure and leisure activities, from the luge and the zorb (silicon ball rolls down the hill with you inside) to the Agrodome and Rainbow Springs.
Waitomo is famous for its glowworm caves. There are guided tours sedate and high adrenaline – such as a 5 hour trip that includes rappelling down a cave, flying through the cave in the black field on a flying fox, jumping off a cliff in an underground stream, and ultimately, to get back out of the cave corkscrew around a vertical waterfall.
Those in New Zealand Taupo honeymoon choice for adventure activities – skydiving, bungy jumping, Jet Boating, quads, horseback riding and rafting to name a few – as well as its idyllic setting on the edge of the largest lake in New Zealand, with three magnificent volcanoes as a backdrop background. Taupo also offers an active nightlife, partly because it is a popular destination for backpackers. Yet another of the attractions of Taupo is that this is a location centric. Rotorua is an hour north of Waitomo Caves are 1 and 3 4 per hour to the northwest, the World Heritage Tongariro National Park is 1 & 1 4 / hours South and Napier and the Hawkes Bay wine district is 2 hours southeast.
And when are the most romantic times to visit New Zealand on their honeymoon? October is glorious since it is spring, the trees are wrapped in new leaves and flowers, the days are warm (not hot) and there are relatively few tourists around. December to March the warmer months are ideal for enjoying the beaches and lakes and a tan. And in April and May are great, as the autumn (fall) colors abound – Reds, browns and yellows against a backdrop of beaches, lakes and mountains.
