What to do in Worcester / Hereford area? A good place for a long weekend?

Think of a long weekend in late Novemeber, never been there before and really do not know much about it. It will be with the baby so young not to quads, etc! What about walks, scenery etc? Any suggestions?

Beautiful scenery round here is where I grew up. Many things to do in Worcester – is the Ceramics Museum, the Cathedral, and good shopping, pleasant walks along the River. Hereford is similar – Cathedral, river walks and good shopping. Depending on where you are staying, I recommend you visit: Ross-on-Wye, near Hereford – small beautiful city, more beautiful riverside walks, and good food (try the Eagle pub if still there). Hay-on-Wye just across the border of Wales – especially if you love books, is well known for its second hand book shops – Richard Booth is especially good, has a great selection. Portions pleasant walks through the area too, the local tourist information centers can give you more details. Ludlow across the border to the north in Shropshire – Beautiful small market town has a castle, street markets and is well known for its food shops and restaurants. I recommend visiting the chocolate right in the square, a store called silver bulb next to the plaza and around a corner store on Church Street Potter (pottery unique in its beauty) and have a cup of tea or a meal at the restaurant De Grey / tea room. Oh, and there is near Ludlow Mortimer Forest – a lot of well-marked trails through beautiful forests.
