Quad Cycles

preventing cramps cycling?
I have cramps in the legs of cycling usealy my quads I'm drinking plenty of fluids the day before and over, does anyone know of any suplmints that the work I'm riding 50 to 100 miles at a time it seems that after the 50-mile mark is where the kick someone said and try to find the caps, but i cannot them anywhere online is there a tri or cycling athletes who have a suggestion
Somehow, All responses received are correct … you are suffering from an electrolyte imbalance and your muscles are failing. The suggestion of banana attacks two fronts energy and the addition of potassium in your system. I'm guessing that occur in the target of two hours at 50 miles and for what they have exhausted most of the internal energy reserves. Eating a banana will not affect performance, the problem is simply that your body can not balance its chemistry to relieve cramps once they have begun in the time span you desired. For any supplement to work must take a gradual, steady dose. The reason why the most effective is that supplements are added to its supply water, thereby providing a timetable for the gradual replacement of electrolytes that you sweat away from your system. I have seen articles that mention that the human body can only absorb something like a liter of fluid an hour. If you've been riding a while you may have heard someone say, "If you're thirsty, it's too late." Translated, if your body is telling you he is thirsty, and you're bordering on dehydration. So no matter the ingredients of a supplement drink, only absorb both the time and will be as ineffective as the banana, if you do not drink small amounts of fluid on a regular basis. I will not say that the suggested supplements to now is not going to help, they usually contain all the electrolytes it needs to function and most if not all have an abundance of carbohydrates to get through a walk of 2 + hours. I can take a bit of flak for the next command, but the only real factor if you like the taste and the price fits your budget. Another alternative for all expensive additives are salt tablets. You can go to the local pharmacy and salt tablets for about $ 5 per 100 tablets. Thermo-Tab is a supplier and ingredients are exactly the same as Gatorade, not corn syrup. Most multivitamins contain all the nutrients you need for a trip. When I was training to lose weight, I used these to avoid high-calorie supplements. Just know that in the extended game, you 'Bonk' after about two hours without calories. One person mentioned quinine to prevent cramps, in my experience was not really an effective solution. Quinine is prescribed to people suffer from "night cramps" and is an anti-cramping medicine effect. Although I do not know about chemistry, I know that the dose that works effectively outlaw. I have no tonic idea of how much you have to take to get that dose. Once again, you will be back to the body's ability to absorb the dose needed to avoid cramps. I have used in the past, but was only able to get an additional half hour to an hour for my legs, not a solution to a century ride. Others who have seen trying to had varying degrees of success. Ultimately, it is likely to depend on their habits during the march. 1) Get some kind of supplement electrolyte and installation of a drink about every fifteen minutes, even if you are not thirsty. 2) Snack while driving. Long or punish the drivers and you have to maintain a constant flow of nutrients into your body. Bananas, raisins, energy bars, gels, whatever: as long as they are feeding your body the calories you need to carry out. You can research what types of foods are better because according to their rate of use, your body may not be able to process enough food fast enough to help. I will leave it up to nutritionists. 3) Finally, you can push your quads too much, try moving back into the chair should avoid stressing quads all the time. Long distance drivers sometimes slide right back in the chair and move your cleat position again, and employ more of the hamstrings and buttocks when they ride. Talk to an adjuster before doing this because you can do much damage to yourself if you overextend your legs. 4) Go to one of the events or brevets RAAM one, people is large and each has experienced what is happening and may have some really great advice. I think the trip Hotter Than Hell used to be cucumber juice as a panacea for the ills that afflict you …. each his own. Good luck and safe riding, BH
