We just reading about the area Whitewater Mounted Search and Rescue Team, Wisconsin volunteer group that uses horses to help find missing persons. The group was started in August 2006 after an autistic boy disappeared in the area, and several local horse owners to seek help was offered a horse.

During the summer, they gather for the week, daily training sessions and mock searches. The horses are trained to search for toys in heavily wooded areas. That's awesome! I've always loved horses, which seem to belong to a range most enlightened animal.
