Government needs better housing accommodation?
Recently moved to government housing because I am disabled. This complex is a combination low-income families, the elderly and the disabled. The laundry is almost totally inaccessible to a person in a wheelchair. The room is very small with a row of washers and dryers in a row in a narrow path between them. The only machines that someone in a wheelchair can actually reach the very top teams. I only occasionally use a chair so it does not really affect me but I really am concerned about the people who depend on a chair all the time. I think there are about 3 people here at this time who are in a chair or scooter. Nobody seems to know how to ask for a larger, more accessible space. Who would I contact to get this started? Are there scholarships available if the housing authority does not want help?
You can write your local or state for new changes, also to the office before their housing complex.
