Is there a Gilera dealer in Canada?
I am looking to buy a Gilera scooter in Canada.
I checked their website (http://www.gilera.com/) but I did not see Canada or even the US as one of their locations.
If there doesn’t happen to be a Canadian dealer, does anyone know how I would be able to order one from a different location and have it shipped to Canada?
The Gilera brand is part of the Piaggio group and both marques are sold alongside each other in the European market. There is also quite a large degree of parts sharing between the two.
You might want to find your local Piaggio/Vespa dealer and start negotiations with them. It may be possible to persuade your local dealer to import you the Gilera of your choice, but it will be a Euro-spec machine and may not be legal for North American territories.
The only other option is buy the machine of your choice from a European dealer at a distance and then make the necessary arrangements for the scoot to be freighted to Canada as a personal import. However this will be neither cheap nor easy, as you will no doubt have to jump through a number of bureaucratic hoops to get the machine registered for road use in Canada.
