Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Conquered Ojos Del Salado
It was almost seventy years ago when the first man climbed the world's highest volcano, Ojos del Salado in Chile. And that record will be not discussed by anyone, but two Jeep Wrangler Unlimited vehicles that has been established to create a new world record by climbing 6646 meters (21,804 feet) and the volcano rim. This achievement was certified by Guinness World Records ™ and is said to be easily beaten.
Besides there were other vehicles Jeep Wrangler who tried to reach the summit of the volcano unfortunately all of them failed. Only Wrangler, which has managed to reach the summit of the volcano. The Ojos del Salado is the second highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere, Hemisphere (6892 meters/22, 597 feet), and now after the Jeep Wrangler has managed to reach the peak of his been called the higher parking "in the world" — Jeep exclusive only until such time that another vehicle will be able to achieve what traditional brand quality and the manufacturer of Jeep roof rack has been, until then the volcano is just the area Jeep parking.
The extraordinary journey to the top of the Ojos del Salado is the case in March, who took the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited vehicles alongside a team Extreme Events in Germany led by Mattias Jeschke grueling five days in the conquest of the inhospitable volcano in Chile.
According to George Murphy, the Group Chrysler senior vice president of Global Marketing, "This was exactly the challenge to separate the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited from all other 4×4 vehicles. A rise as this not only in the off-road, but extreme conditions, is a testament to the operation of the vehicle's powertrain, suspension and overall quality. We very proud that Wrangler Unlimited was the first vehicle to be able to complete such a rigorous challenge, and I think it really puts the vehicle beyond its competence. "
During the climb the team endured hurricane-force winds, temperatures that reached minus 30 degrees Celsius or less not to mention 22 degrees Fahrenheit limited air that goes with that point and the difficulty of maneuvering on the glaciers, fissured rock cliffs and volcanic sand. The last part of the increase was considered the most grueling, since both Wrangler Unlimited vehicles had to cross a glacier with smooth sides that would have required to be traveled on foot for toe shoes.
That's not the end of the hard part, Wrangler vehicles must also pass a field zone cracked glacier ice covered with snow penitents penknife sharp. It is to overcome such difficult terrain that 3.8L V6 engine and Goodyear Wrangler MT / R tires proved their true capability. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the best very first vehicle to cross the glaciers of the Ojos del Salado.
After the team has overcome its initial goal of 6,500 meters, which is more beyond the glacier, the team continues forward until it ran out of space for the unit. Jeschke team leader has described the experience after reaching the plateau at the end of the summit as "incredible, huge, phenomenal. The Wrangler are unbeatable."
The two Wrangler Unlimited vehicles that completed the challenge were standard equipment Rubicon models. Apart from standard equipment Wrangler Unlimited both were fitted with Goodyear MT / R tires, electronic measuring altitude of technology and winches. Unlimited Wranglers both were equipped with one of its kind, the outdoor design of four doors, and offer more comfort, versatility space and outdoor options.
The Wrangler Limited can also accommodate five adult passengers and have the most cargo space — that is the first time that the model Wrangler. The Wrangler Unlimited is a combination of style, functionality and off-road capability. It also expands the Jeep experience and core values for a wide range of customers who want a Wrangler.
