The use of an ATV plow to improve your landscape

Like many parents, I have always had problems with my teenager to do work around the house. Am great in my yard and all the outdoor work that comes with it. I do a lot of gardening, a lot of shoveling, and even more mowing and loading. For years, was almost impossible to get my son to help with any of this, and finally stopped making any kind of help at all.

A couple of years ago, the family and moved to Colorado. And not just any part of Colorado … the Rocky Mountains. We found a good home with a large courtyard in a small community called Evergreen, about 25 kilometers west of Denver in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. To our surprise, the house comes with a little bonus: a large wooden shed on the property that contains a old ATV and lots of accessories to go along with it.

After reaching the end of November we settled just in time for the first winter storm snow. And boy, did it ever come down. After three days of constant blizzards and more than five feet of snow total, we are stuck behind a 200 meters of snow-filled entry. The idea of trying to shovel huge area was overwhelming, until I remembered having seen a snow plow for the ATV appropriate age in the shed. Hoping that this might do the trick, I went to the shed to see if I could put together.

With a couple of calls with the manufacturer of the ATV (Kawasaki) and manufacturer of snow thrower (WARN), I was set and ready to go. Interestingly, all he did to the edge of the garage before my teenage son was running towards me with wide eyes and a look never before seen interest in household chores. Surprisingly, the boy asked me to shovel the driveway, a task that had always pretended to go cold.

In just two hours, the ATV had plowed the whole 200 meters of road, and my son ran as excited as if I had just spent time on your snowboard. For the rest of the winter season, his eyes lit up every time the snow fell, and never spent more a couple of hours snowed in. During the great hours, my wife and I simply heat a pot of hot chocolate and see the amazing transformation taking place from the warmth of the house.

When spring came around to and it was time to start working on my tree pruning and the rights of the garden, I found an interest similar in these outdoor chores. I cut the branches, and my son is the load on the ATV plow and transported to the edge of the property. Then spent a week digging up dirt and dosage of land for my gardening plans tail. In a fraction of the time it had taken in previous years, I had a large garden, thanks especially the help of my son and his new favorite toy.

In the last two years, I did not shovel a little snow in the winter. During the past two summers, not I put a little work in my garden. But still I have the best patio and garden in search of the block, and my son did it all with an old ATV and utility plow. And any time the neighbors came to ask me how I got my son to be so useful in the yard, simply point at which the old ATV and say "Get one and see for yourself. "
