Yamaha 50cc Dirt Bikes
Does the sound of gas moped scooters bother you? Me crazy, let me explain. He recently moved to Spain from the UK and after getting my bearings one of the first things I noticed was the difference in the number of cars on the road, now one would think that fewer cars would be a good thing, however, I have my reservations. You see there is a fundamental difference – the weather is better – some 300 days of sunshine per year, which means there is a large proportion of travelers with motorcycles, mopeds and scooters.
Once again I hear you say it should be a good thing that has to be good for the environment, I agree, however during the summer noise that occurs at peak times of the day and late into the night can be unbearable. There is also the issue of two-stroke engines pumping pollutants into the atmosphere.
That got me thinking about how the scooter manufacturers should be introducing alternative methods of providing energy to these machines. I started to look to the great as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, etc. They appear to be the main culprits of noise in the streets around my home. I was surprised at work had been done in the search for an alternative mode of power, such as the range of hybrid Yamaha motorcycles began in rooms automobile in 2005. The problem is that they seem to have been released.
It seems that most of the major manufacturers have developed conceptual models and their showed the largest motor shows, but there have been few who have it in the street.
Honda has been a notable exception to this rule with the stunning Vectrix and have made a good-looking electric motorcycle which is packed with technology and is capable of giving a traditional city bike a run for their money. Compare them like alike, and it is difficult to know the difference between it and a petrol scooter, but when you open the throttle the lack of engine noise gives it away.
Plug into the night and it will return over 70 miles in our two offices, has a top speed of about 65 mph and is extremely comfortable. One of the things on Smarter Honda Vectrix is that regenerative braking unlike a gas scooter when you release the throttle the bike does not slow, however you last touch point of rest and the brakes kick in – the more twisted than brakes, and while doing so the motor becomes a dynamo who heads the battery.
The downside of this bike is great price, considering the age group the average rider is probably between seventeen and thirty years, I think $ 12,000 is about Euro 8000 could be prohibitive and will take time for them to enter the property after pr-market.
In the winter when the tourists go home and the city returns to normal noise goes away and you can hear the birds singing, I just hope that next year the big scooter manufacturers can break technology of the barriers that limit the development of motorcycles and scooters that use alternative fuels, so we can live in peace.
