Yamaha Atv Snow Plow
Get my Yamaha Grizzly ATV ready for winter?
Have a Yamaha Grizzly 450. Want to use it to plow snow. How I can make sure it starts when ever I need with out a problem. Gets around minus 20 degrees Celsius or minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit in which I live.
There's really nothing "great" you can do to prepare for an ATV for the winter because in essence, means ATV all-terrain-vehicle (Yes, of course, I know you know) and if it is in all fields, has to go to the snow which means cold! What you should do is change your oil viscosity preferably one that matches the colder weather. You should also adjust your carbs if not fuel injected. You just have to let it warm up before you start plowing. And one more thing ….. WATCH YOUR LEVEL OF OIL! If you wake up, it could mean moisture accumulates. I plow every winter and gets down to -10 degrees F here in southeastern Wisconsin. I have a Polaris Sportsman fuel injected, but I hardly do anything to have it ready for winter.
