2009 Yamaha Raptor 700R

Introduced in 2001, the Raptor has become an instant hit in the archive. Eight years later, the Raptor is being a best-seller, not a one hit wonder. In 2009, the Raptor has become the first ATV equipped with a fully functional digital meter. The new gauge include a speedometer, an odometer, engine warning indicators, position and even a clock. Raptors limited edition also come with new rear brake discs kind of wave.

At 686cc, this engine is the most powerful shot in the line of Yamaha ATV, producing enormous torque just off idle. The engine features Raptors forged pistons and connecting rods that are light and strong. Equipped with a 16-bit TCI (Transistor controlled ignition) that improves throttle response, the Raptor maintains performance excellent engine under various conditions.

Harnessing the power of the 686cc mill is a crank mounted on two counter balancers that hold the vibration low to high revs. A shifter YZ-spec ratchet ensures the peaceful transfer of power in the gearbox 5-speed with reverse.

Keep the smooth ride are new aluminum shocks SOQI slopes with adjustable preload and rebound. The shocks have 9.1 inches of travel in front and 10.1 inches in the rear. Previously exclusively on the model 2007 SE, the standard Raptor now have high and low speed compression damping adjustment. Stock Dunlop radial tires aluminum wheels provide good traction and reduce unsprung weight. The Raptor uses hydraulic brakes with twin-piston calipers grip the disks while the special edition get a rear disc wave type. This can be seen in the aluminum rims Clymer repair manuals.
